The study examined strategies for improving entrepreneurial practical skill acquisition for self employment
in Colleges of Education in South-South, Nigeria. Two research questions and two
hypotheses were raised to guide the study. The descriptive research design was adopted for the
study. The population of the study comprised all 358 Business Education lecturers in colleges of
education in south-south, Nigeria. The entire population was used without sampling due to its
manageable size. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire. The
instrument was validated by two experts. Spearman’s rank correlation was used to establish the
data and the coefficient of 0.74 was obtained suggesting a high reliability. The data collected for
this study was analyzed using mean to answer the research questions while t-test was used to test
the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that institutional
collaboration strategy and private partnership participation strategy improves student
entrepreneurial practical skill acquisition for self-employment in Colleges of Education in South-
